Honoring Local Veterans for Nearly 30 Years

After 27 years, the Greater Dallas Veterans Foundation,  comprised mostly of veterans, will no longer host the Greater Dallas Veterans Day Parade and 11th Hour Ceremony. No Greater Dallas Veterans Day parade or ceremony will take place on November 11, 2026.

Since 1998, our board members and volunteers have organized the parade on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, marking the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. Year after year, it gave North Texas a place to gather, to say thank you, and to celebrate the freedoms our veterans enlisted to protect. To every veteran, marcher, band, JROTC cadet, sponsor, volunteer and spectator who made it possible: thank you.

With fewer than six percent of Americans having served in the military, our mission has been to give communities meaningful ways to honor veterans. The veteran ideal of Service Above Self matters more than ever, and the DFW Region will continue honoring our veterans on Veterans Day for generations to come.

The good news: The Metroplex honors Veterans Day in outstanding ways. Below are the parades and ceremonies we know about so far, followed by annual events still finalizing their 2026 plans. We hope you will join one, or several, this November. Veterans Day falls on Wednesday, November 11, so many cities celebrate on Saturday, November 7.
