We are excited to announce that this year’s parade will once again take place at Fair Park! Please join us to honor and celebrate all veterans from across the Metroplex.
The Greater Dallas Veterans Foundation (GDVF) is proud to present the 2025 theme:
"75th Anniversary of the Korean War"
Seventy-five years ago, when freedom was threatened on the Korean Peninsula, American troops stood shoulder to shoulder with United Nations allies to defend liberty. More than 37,000 Americans gave their lives and 102,000 were wounded in a conflict that forever shaped global security.
The armistice of 1953 created the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), where American and South Korean soldiers still stand guard against the North to this very day. Yet, sandwiched between the triumph of World War II and the tragedy of Vietnam, the Korean War is too often overlooked—earning the name “The Forgotten War.”
But it must never be forgotten. Today, more than 1.16 million Korean War veterans are still with us. If you meet one, share what you know about their sacrifice. They will deeply appreciate that you remembered.
The GDVF has proudly supported the Greater Dallas Veterans Day Parade (GDVDP) since 1998. Most of our Foundation Board Members have chaired the GDVDP Committee that organizes, supervises, and conducts the parade each year, on the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month, marking the date and time of the signing of the Armistice ending World War I.
